aussies and avatars

Ross and I had been talking about going on an island trip on the Arima - the newest in the quiver of boats, and the only one I'd never been on. After a few people flaked out, we no longer worried about 4 people being too much and we took Randall J and Bergsie. The truth being, we had to take the aussie kid for an adventure - most surfers never get to do this while living here their whole lives, so of course we had to take the friend from abroad.

We jetted out on calm seas, had a blast riding sponges, drinking on cliff tops, and spreading coco vibes all around. It was a gorgeous day and everyone we met was super cool. The lowest part of the trip was coming home, which was pretty choppy...this just meant we got a bit wet...ok, we got soaked, but if that was the lowest point, then it was a pretty damn good trip.

This happened to be Halloween Eve. We started the day with an island adventure, only to end the day dancing until 4am at a house party in the Park. We woke up the next morning and everyone was covered in blue smudges - that would be blue paint from bergsie's costume as an Avatar rubbing off on everyone via the dance floor...fucking aussies!!! Not a bad way to spend Halloween.
