boiled octopus

so let's make this more of a story...

koichi drove from arizona to join us the other weekend for a joshua tree-integrabooster-birthday extravaganza in the desert. he arrives friday morning with no camping gear, no food, not even any shorts. i gave him a pair of really short shorts, and he ended in those without a t-shirt passed out in the middle of the desert, with empty beer bottles and a puddle of drool around him...and later a nice sun burn. apparently, 'boiled octopus' is the japanese way of describing a really bad sunburn. the rest of the weekend, koichi was asking people if they wanted to see his boiled octopus and immediately pulling his pants down...god damn japanese pranksters!! i love it!!!

for all of you who recognize our special japanese friend here, you know and love him dearly. for those of you who don't, his name is koichi. he came here to study english, and ended up staying for a few years. he surfs and he speaks english very well.

he is currently going to business school in arizona, so there is no immediate threat. i will warn you however, that he is a con artist. he will say vulgar comments to the cute girl you might have made eye contact with from across the bar. then when she gets mad, he turns on his japanese accent, points at you and says "wait, i no speak english, he told me say that!"...that's when your chances of getting anywhere with that cute girl are forever ruined. this used to be a regular occurrence until he moved out of state. nevertheless, this is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of his conning skills...it's always an adventure, but be warned.

mini simmons part 2

i finished shaping my mini simmons today. it took me a good number of sessions in the garage and shaping room, but im pretty happy with how it turned out.
